George Tracy Weir, Jr., 67, of Fort Collins passed away on April 14 after a long illness. He leaves his loving wife, Vicki Hittson Weir.
George was born July 24, 1940 in San Diego, Calif. to U.S. Navy Commander George Tracy Weir, Sr. and Hazel Elizabeth Weir. He is survived by brother Walter Weir and wife Susan Nelson of Pollock Pines, Calif.; brother Warren Tilton and wife Shirley of Rutland, Vt.; lifelong friend and brother Mark Minguillon and wife Janie of Danville, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law Doug and Jean Savage of Bakersfield, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his first wife Carolyn Savage Weir, together they have five surviving children: Nancy Weir Nash and husband Mark Nash of San Diego, Calif.; Tracie Weir Peay of Salt Lake City, Utah; Brian and Melissa Weir of Vernal, Utah; Robin Weir and Andrew Gregory of Longmont and Michael Weir of Denver. The family is blessed with 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
George is an electronics engineering graduate of Brigham Young University. From 1977 to 1999, he worked as a systems engineer, in computer sales to government and military interests, and computer marketing and sales training for Hewlett-Packard in San Diego and Fort Collins. From 1999 to his retirement in 2003, he worked for BEA Systems in San Jose, Calif.
A celebration of George Weir’s life will take place at 11 a.m. May 17, 2008 at the historical Riverside Cemetery Chapel, 5201 Brighton Blvd., Denver, CO with good memories, good music, good fellowship, and good eats with a potluck picnic for family and friends. Dress is casual.
