Stanley Royden Manning
Stanley Royden Manning of Fort Collins passed away on Sunday, March 30th, at the age of 69. He was the only child of Donald and Bernice Manning of Manchester, Connecticut.
Beginning his career in the metals industry at 19, he earned a degree from the University of Hartford over ten years of night school. Having been both a drag-racer and a folksinger in his youth, Stan discovered a lifelong love of the mountains in Vermont with his first wife, Linda Oman.
A transfer to Michigan brought him into the lives of Marilyn Yamato and her two sons, Andy and Ben. They were married in 1989, and moved to Colorado in 2001, where he enjoyed a vigorously active retirement on the links of Fort Collins and the slopes of Breckenridge. His friendly, energetic, and helpful spirit endeared him to all.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn and their two sons, Andrew (Jennifer Gage) of Brooklyn, New York and Benjamin (Elizabeth) of Lakewood, Colorado.
The family will greet friends at a memorial open house from 4-6 p.m., with words of remembrance 6 p.m. at their home in Fort Collins on Sunday, May 25th. Contribution in Stan's memory may be made to National Public Radio. Katherine Knox Newman
Katherine Knox Newman, 54, joined her sister, Diane, on May 9. She leaves behind two sons, Chad and Shawn Newman; three sisters, Rhonda Griffith, Marla Mockerman and Dana Burns; father, William Knox; and mother, Jeanie Taylor. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Fort Lupton United Methodist Church, 306 Park Ave., Fort Lupton. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery, 1102 Lincoln Ave. in Loveland.
Anita Rodriquez
Anita G. Rodriquez, born Aug. 25, 1934 in Anson, Texas died May 10 at Poudre Valley Hospital. She was just 73.
Mrs. Rodriquez was a homemaker, a church member and she loved to sew. She was a Sunday school teacher and a director at the Church of Bethel. When things needed to get done, she made sure they were. There was always food on the stove and she loved her green chile.
She is preceded in death by a husband, Pascual Rodriquez, a daughter, Maryalice Rodriquez and her parents, Pablo and Clara Gonzales from Plainview, Texas. She had 10 children; Lorene from Wellington, Carol from Johnstown, Lisa from Lakewood, Lupe from Jacksonville, Fla., David, Louie, Joe, Rudy, Adam and Frank, all from Fort Collins.
She had 28 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, seven sisters and four brothers: Fedela from Edinburgh, Texas; Sylvia, Minnie, Pauline, Mary, from Broken Arrow, Okla.; Frances from Plainview, Texas; Angie from Crowell, Texas; Felix and Paul from Plainview, Texas; Pete from Broken Arrow, Okla., and Lee from Fort Collins. She also had several nieces and nephews.
Anita enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her family will miss her dearly.

Kari Cornett
Kari Cornett, 40, of Big Pine Key, Fla., went to a better place on May 10. Born Aug. 16, 1967, in Wheat Ridge, she grew up in Fort Collins and graduated from Rocky Mountain High School in 1985.
Kari was a wild and crazy lady who loved to talk and talk and talk. Being in the service of business all of her adult life, she seemed to be on stage and make everyone around her laugh. She made a friend of everyone and stayed in contact with her friends from high school.
Although she had been living in the Florida Keys for several years, she loved her Rocky Mountains, missed the snow and was a diehard Bronco fan.
Kari's positive attitude, optimism and independence were always prevalent but even more admirable the past year and a half. .
She is Survived by her mother, Dede Dillon of Greeley; father, Lloyd Cornett of Granby; brother, Keith Cornett of Greeley; aunts and uncles, Bruce and Chris Dreith of Woodland, Calif., Doug and Kathy Durica and Bob and Rene' Dillon; cousins, Derek Durica, Luke Dillon and Logan Dillon, all of Fort Collins.

Barbara J. Holtz
Barbara J. Holtz, of Fort Collins, passed away May 9.
Barbara was born Nov. 19, 1944, in Springfield, Ill. She lived in Colorado the majority of her life. She worked at Colorado State Hospital and the Social Services Department in Pueblo. She retired in 2004 from Colorado State University where she worked as a program assistant in the Earth Resources Department for over 20 years. Barbara enjoyed hiking, dancing, traveling and loved being with her family.
Barbara is survived by her mother, June DeGolier; sons, William Holtz and family; Kirk Holtz; sisters Shirley Smith and family, Linda Zupancic and family, Terri Nickless and family; and grandson Connor Holtz.
She was preceded in death by her son Rocky Holtz and granddaughter Sadie Kim Holtz.

Timothy Lauden
Timothy Lauden, 47, of Fort Collins passed on to be with his Lord on May 10 at Poudre Valley Hospital due to heart issues he'd had for many years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Judith Lauden; and his brother, Jeffrey Lauden.
Born in Hibbing, Minn., on Aug. 17, 1960, Tim has made his home in Fort Collins for the past 30 years. He loved hunting and being outdoors but also deeply respected all wildlife. He was an avid fisherman; so avid that he considered himself a retired drywaller to pursue his dream of becoming a professional walleye fisherman.
Tim is survived by his sons, Timothy and Austin; his significant other, Sandra Squires (and her daughter Morgan); stepdaughter, Jeanie Foster; father, James Lauden; brother, Trent (and wife Cita) Lauden; sister, Rhonda; grandmother, Lois Adler; aunts; uncles; cousins; niece; nephews; friends; extended family members; and of course, Lydia (his puppy).
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. May 17 at The Vineyard Church, 1201 Riverside Ave., Fort Collins. His cremated remains will be buried at the Columbarium Memory Garden at the Poudre Canyon Chapel.

Vincent Paul Lucero
Vincent Paul Lucero , 38, of Fort Collins, unexpectedly passed away and was called home to be with the Lord on May 5.
Vince was born Nov. 18, 1969 in Fort Collins to Mary Jo and Anastasio “Paul” Lucero. After graduating from Poudre High School in 1988, he started his career in construction. Vince was united in marriage to Justine Barela on July 27, 1996. He was a superintendent with C & A Construction for the past eight years. He was a member of Holy Family and St. Joseph Catholic Church. Vince loved spending time with his family, golfing, playing darts, hunting, fishing and barbecues and loved good Mexican food… the hotter the better! Vince had a heart of gold and will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Vince is survived by his wife Justine and their two children: Melia and Vinson of Fort Collins, daughter Celina Valdez of Westminster; his parents Anastasio and Mary Jo; his brother David (Christine, Steven, Shaun, Joseph and their mother Brenda Mills); sister Michele Harmon and husband Michael (Alexis, Braden, Antonio); father and mother-in-law Savino and Carmen Barela; sister-in-law Sabrina Cortell and husband Ron (Janay, Ronnie, Jayden) of San Diego, Calif.; two great-nephews and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Vince was preceded in death by his grandparents Santiago and Sarah Vigil, Jose and Conferina Lucero and lifelong friend Thedor Mercado.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. May 16 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with a graveside service at Resthaven Memory Gardens.

John P. Mueller
John P. Mueller, 78, educator and mountain climber, passed away at a local nursing home May 9.
Although he had lived with Parkinson's disease for many years, his life changed forever when he was hit by a car while riding his bicycle in September 2002, an accident from which he never recovered. His remains were given to the Colorado State Anatomical Board for medical education.
He taught at Fort Collins High School, other public schools, and Aims Community College in Greeley, teaching for 32 years.
While education was his profession, his love was mountaineering. John was a seasonal U.S. Forest Service ranger and Rocky Mountain National Park protection ranger. As a park ranger, he led many technical rescues in the Bear Lake District. Always concerned about mountain safety, he and five other men co-founded the volunteer Aspen Search and Rescue group in Aspen. During the Korean conflict, he was in the Army's Nike Missile division.
He was a member of various mountain and conservation organizations and an educational union negotiator.
In addition to mountaineering, his hobbies included researching historical matters, woodworking, building and jeeping.
John was the only son of Hans F. and Laura Mueller, of Cleveland, Ohio, now deceased. His sisters, Ilse and Carol, predeceased him. He is survived by his wife, Ellie (Camden); his son, Hans; his daughter-in-law, Dorte; his grandsons, Oliver and Jakob; his sister, Darya; and two other sons, Rolf and Kurt, by an earlier marriage.

Sgt. Isaac Palomarez
Sgt. Isaac Palomarez, 26, of Loveland died during combat operations in Afghanistan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 19, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loveland at 1730 W. 12th St.
Interment with full military honors will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens around noon.
