A 34-year-old man was killed early Saturday morning when he fell off of a southbound train traveling through downtown Fort Collins.
The man attempted to jump on the train at Laurel and Mason, according to a Fort Collins police press release, but fell off a short time later. The train dragged the man about 300 feet.
The train came to a stop just south of Prospect and College.
The coroner will release the identity of the man. It is unknown if alcohol was a contributing factor.
Officials from Burlington Northern Santa Fe, along with the Fort Collins police, are investigating the death.
