The 13th Annual Taste of Fort Collins will be June 13-14 at the Civic Center Park in Old Town.
The festival offers food from area restaurants, displays from artists and crafters and the entertainment of local musicians. There will also be regionally and internationally acclaimed musicians.
The festival also benefits Special Olympics Larimer County and Fort Collins Eyeopeners Kiwanis Club, both local organizations. Last year the event raised more than $26,000.
Included in the line up for musical acts is Sugar Ray, Gin Blossoms, and local acts Single File, Roe, Motorhome, Kory Brunson Band, P-Nuckle, Jason Vigil and many others.
Last Year we felt we had a great lineup, and we really feel that this year's lineup far exceeds it, said Jason Ornstein, the events director. Taste of Fort Collins will rival the top festivals in all of Colorado this summer.
Kids will also be able to participate at the festival in the K99 Kidz Zone. This area will include a variety of interactive activities. Kidz Zone is presented by Certa Pro Painters.
Already confirmed local restaurants that will be represented are Rasta Pasta, The Melting Pot, Carino's Italian Grill, Albert Pit BBX Taj Mahal, Uncle's Pizza, Eliot's Mess, the Little Italian Kitchen and Cheba Hut, to name a few. There will be a minimum of 25 local eateries represented at the festival.
Featured at the festival will be wares from more than 125 artists, crafters and vendors.
New this year, the festival will hold a food drive benefiting the Food Bank of Larimer County, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Friday, June 12 at the Drake Professional Park, 2627 Redwing Road No. 360.
The Taste is a wonderful event for so many, but we also realize while many of us get to indulge there are those that are less fortunate, stated Ornstein. Patrons will get $1 off their entry into the festival for a donation of a non-perishable food item.
Donations can be taken to Sage Marketing Group, 323 W. Drake Road No.16 on June 12 in exchange for a $1 coupon and pizza and a beverage from Sage Marketing Group.
The main entrance for the festival will be at LaPorte Avenue and Mason Street.
Taste of Fort Collins is sponsored by First National Bank, RC Special Events, Pedersen Toyota, The Fort Collins Coloradoan, The Point, K99, Coors Odells Brewing, Coca Cola, Skyy Vodka and Jack Daniels. The event is produced by Team Player Productions.
The Taste of Fort Collins is $5 per person before 3 p.m. and $10 after 3 p.m. both days. Children under 12, seniors over 65 and members of the military with proper ID are free. Advance weekend passes for $15 are available at Wilbur's Total Beverage, 2201 S. College Ave, while supplies last. VIP and backstage passes are $29.
