Fox 31 weather: Expect cool weather today, more sunshine on Mother's Day

Print Comment
A little bit of everything is expected this weekend. We’ve had a series of fast-moving storms as of late, and one more will move through the state today. While this storm has weakened a bit and lost some of its moisture during the past 48 hours, we still expect areas of scattered rain and cooler temperatures today. The best chance for rain in northern Colorado will be before 2 p.m. Expect some sunshine late in the day with afternoon highs only in the mid-50s. A northwest breeze will add to the chill in the air — keep the coat handy.

By Sunday, the storm will be long gone with sunshine, light wind and warmer weather expected. Temperatures should climb to 70 degrees in Weld County. A lovely forecast for all the moms out there. Mother’s Day in Colorado typically marks the start of planting season. Enjoy your time in the garden!

Next week starts out nice, with sunny skies and temps in the 70s on Monday. By Tuesday, another storm system will move into northern Colorado, bringing a cooler air mass and chance for showers. Stay tuned — weather can be unusually active during the month of May.
